What is the Revolving Fund?

The Palmetto Trust's Revolving Fund was established to rescue and re-sell historic properties in South Carolina that are threatened by neglect or development pressures. The revolving fund has been in place for nearly a decade and in that time, we have successfully "revolved" some of South Carolina's most significant historic properties. View success stories .

A revolving fund is a pool of capital created and reserved for historic preservation, with the condition that the money will be returned to the fund to be reused for similar activities. A revolving fund can be a highly visible and aggressive tool with which to save endangered properties, initiate the revitalization of an entire historic district or commercial area, and demonstrate to the community the economic and social benefits of historic preservation.
