Where's Mike?
|
July 7, 2008

Where are you?
I’m with Mr. John Perry (Town Administrator of Blythewood) in front of his cities beautiful Town Hall, which is also a restored antebellum home.
What did you do there?
Mr. Perry invited me on a tour of their town’s historic properties. During the tour, we discussed the plans that have been put into action for saving their remaining historic structures and new town park (which is adjacent to the town hall.)
What did you think about your experience?
Blythewood is the perfect example of a crossroads rail road town that had a very small traditional core. It is surrounded by modern residential and commercial development close to I-77. It’s surprising how many of the historical buildings scattered through out the town are still intact and being reused!
Mr. Perry, the town council and the citizens of Blythewood are doing a great job of finding solutions that combine their traditional architecture with the modern world.
